The Sandcastle Contest

The Annual East Hampton Sandcastle Contest will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10AM on the Atlantic Avenue Beach in Amagansett, New York.

Only indigenous materials may be used in the final sand sculpture, no power tools are allowed and you can not build in front of the Lifeguard stands or go into the dunes.

Groups are established so children are not competing against adults. The size of each group is limited to 6 so there isn’t one person competing against a group of 20. Ten dollars charged for each group and there is no charge for the spectators. This is one of our favorite days of the year and we hope to see you there!

This event is organized by the Clamshell Foundation. For more information and donations, please visit - http://clamshellfoundation.org/events/the-sand-castle-contest/

ANNUAL MEETING - HAMPTON WATERS

  • First Presbyterian Church, Sessions House in Rear (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This year’s annual Hampton Waters meeting will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 10 AM to approximately 12 noon in the Sessions House at the rear of the First Presbyterian Church of East Hampton, 120 Main Street, East Hampton.. All residents in good standing are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The agenda for this meeting will include the president’s summary of this past years’ efforts and accomplishments, on-going projects, future projects, the treasurer’s report from 2018, and board member elections for those on the board whose two year terms are expiring - John O’Rourke, Barbara Strauss, Arthur Beckenstein, and Peter DeStaebler.

This year, members will be voting on the election/re-election of four board member positions. We welcome residents who are interested in filling one of these positions or who would like to join a particular committee and get involved. Please email President@HWPOA.com .

For those Hampton Water’s residents who are not able to attend this meeting, absentee and proxy voting forms will be sent by regular mail. Absentee votes should be mailed to HWPOA, P.O. Box 1332, East Hampton, NY 11937 by June 1st. If residents wish to designate a proxy who they trust to vote for them in their absence, those forms may be mailed to us or submitted at the time of the meeting.

If you have not paid your yearly dues as yet, this would be a good time. The board will accept dues payments at the annual meeting but, with all the other business of the annual meeting, it is recommended that payment be made in advance.

We hope to see as many residents who are able to attend. This is an opportunity for all residents of this community, especially new residents, to actively participate in the process, give feedback, catch up on news, and meet your neighbors. We look forward to seeing you.

YARD SALE - HAMPTON WATERS

The board of HWPOA is pleased to announce a bigger and better idea for a yard sale this year on Saturday, June 1st from 9am to 1pm. Residents in good standing who would like to participate may simply put their items outside their house, in their yard, garage, or driveway instead of lugging them to one central location. Balloons on mailboxes will identify participating homes, and buyers may just drive around Hampton Waters to shop.

The association will post ads in the local newspapers, and provide signs at all Hampton Waters entrances. A simple map or a listing of the addresses for each seller will be made available at each location. We can even include a short description of the items you are selling.

Please let us know by May 25th, so we can organize the event. If you would like to participate please email President@HWPOA.com , and include your name, address, and some information about the items you are selling.
